The above link is to the Vietnam Security Police Association web page. Read the account "Three Days in Hell" and you will be shaking your head. We all know that on the night of July 1, 1965 VC sappers attacked the C-130 ramp at Da Nang where the 6315th Ops Group C-130 flareships were parked. What we don't know is that while the attack was still going on, Air Force OSI agents accused a young air policeman who was TDY to Da Nang from George AFB, CA of deliberately shooting an AP NCO during the attack! The deceased NCO was awarded the Silver Star while the other airman was put on the first airplane off of the base and sent back to CCK, where he was TDY, and from there back to California. It's enough to make you want to throw up your chili!
